what-can-xtool-ks-1-toyota-smart-key-simulator-do-1

With Xtool KS-1can eliminate those boring jobs. As long as the original car data is read from OBD to generate the simulation card, turn on the ignition switch can realize the function of clearing and adding smart keys. By reading, decrypting, and writing the original car anti-theft data to simulation card, which is equivalent to generating an original car key.

Xtool KS-1 supports Toyota 94 / D4, 98, 39, 88 / A8, A9 type smart key all key lost matching. The simulation card can be reused. After matching the key, you can turn off the power or remove the battery to restore the initial state.

Advice on Locksmith tools around 10k euro

Looking for the locksmith tools to cover most of the brands and the budget is around 10k euro. I would like original tools that have updates. I will mostly do European cars vag, French, cars, fiat group, bmw, mb ....2005-2015.

10k is peanut for tools in today's locksmith market.

You may cover old non keyless go models with that investment. If you already have major workshop tools. If you need soldering equipment, stock, and programmers you're wasting time, as 10k will get you decent soldering station, power supply and cheap programmer.

Good laptop for this job is 1-3k depending on brand, accessories, speed and quality.

Programmers start at 500USD, and you will need at least 5 different

stock for keys 20k

Key cutting machine 3-10k

Lock decoders 2-5k

scan-tools 5-25k

Special tools for BMW,MB 20-30k

if you want to do all brands , then save your money , there isn't a tool on the market that covers all models and years on all brands .

top end multi brand tools like abrites are around £24k plus tax but still lots of gaps , cheaper token based tools like zedfull and smart pro are cheaper at around 3.5k plus tax , but you pay in tokens for every key you make , then there's multi brand tools like autel im608 great kit at around 3.5k plus around £800 a year fee for online access and updates .

on a 10k set up you are limited to china kit , lonsdor and obdstar will give you coverage but no where near all brands and models .

as has been said , take just lishi picks , they don't have full coverage on all brands and models , but there are 100 plus tools in set , so a full set of lishi is a good 2k .

a good cut to code machine , you won't find one that cuts everything on a budget , but these are between 1k and 7.5k you get what you pay for in reliability and coverage

then there's stock , it's ok having the tools and the machines but you now need the stock , there are well over 1500 different remote keys used across the brands , if stocking them all then you need a stock value far higher than your budget allows .

all this before you even start looking at what diag you need , and 1 is not enough , you need multiple programmers as well as eeprom and dump tools.

you can get a set up for 10k , but it will be china kit , it won't do all it claims and will have big gaps , you will pay for updates or buy new machines for new coverage . you won't have a lot of stock as will not have budget for it .

set your sights lower to some brands and you can scrape a start up set up with 10k .

then of course you have to learn to use it all, and that will take a lot of time and practice .

===========================================================

Plenty of options for french cars and fiat , obdstar, lonsdor etc, vvdi 2 is good on vag and ok on bmw , vvdi mb is good on mercedes .

im608 not great on psa and renault , good on mb .

abrites excellent on psa , renault and fiat , good on mercedes and ok on bmw

with bmw you need eeprom tools and dump tools to back up the cas unit for when it goes wrong for all tools.

none of the tools give 100% coverage on mb and bmw in your budget .

autohex is great choice for bmw , but will eat up a huge chunk of your budget for just 1 brand but is by far the best and safest.

just for vag , bmw and mercedes you need a number of tools , and these makes can be the most hassle , judging by how many kill them , so good tools and knowledge on these help , obdstar and lonsdor will be fine on the french cars and most fiat.

for vag theres 6 lishi tools , for bmw theres 3 lishi tools , for mercedes theres 3 tools , for psa and renault theres 8 common tools , fiat theres 3 common tools , so just on these you need 23 tools to cover the years , but for euro cars the full set for euro is around 80 tools .

now your cut to code machines , you need to find cut to code machines that can cut vag keys including the 3 hu162 keys , merc keys for hu64 , most will do the french stuff though some struggle on va6 series and sx9 , so its fitting the right machine to your coverage needs , pointless having the software and not being able to cut the key .

vvdi2 full , vvdi MB and either obdstar or lonsdor will give you alot of coverage but still has fails and gaps , these will eat up over 4k of your budget , ok eeprom reader and dump tool possibly another 1k , so 50% of budget depleted , cut to code machine and some lishi eat the rest , but gets you started with ok kit but it is just a start .

you will get a set up with reasonable coverage for 10k , but it will just be a set up to get you started , the one thing with keys and diag is you dont stop spending , and you get turned over by many diag makers , poor quality keys etc , buying dust catchers is something we all do , todays go to tool is next years dust catcher , its a trade of very deep and always empty pockets

though if not looking to do all keys lost and you only want to do spare keys where customer has a working key already , then your set up is far lower and you can get a very reasonable set up for your 10k as dont need lishi and dont need cut to code machine and dont need such good diag .

===============================================================================

abrites, autel im608, lonsdor etc all have fair coverage on Japanese brands , each has something another hasn't , each has its fails , just as each has its strengths , even gscan can surprise . tango has AKL solutions for plenty of Toyota too . the more options you have the wider coverage you have when one fails another succeeds .

2008 bmw e60 with cas3+ no key, which key programmer + how?

Car model and year: 2008 BMW e60 with cas3+

Situation: The owner has no key.

BMW key programmers test reports:
1. Autel IM608

2. Xhorse VVDI2

3. CGDI BMW key programmer

1. Autel IM608 successfully finally:
Update on this car. I was able to get the key programmed using the Autel. I had to remove the CAS and read the EEPROM. Then I was able to write the key, and use the 64 attempts to get the key to start the vehicle. I got all the way to 58 attempts, but it worked! After I got that key programmed, I attempted to program another through OBD with the working key, and it was still unsuccessful. I am not sure why the car would not accept programming even with a working key, but I am happy I did not have to remove the DME.

Quoted: "After I got that key programmed, I attempted to program another through OBD with the working key, and it was still unsuccessful. I am not sure why the car would not accept programming even with a working key".
That's because dealing with some (maybe all, please correct me if I'm wrong) CAS3++ ISTAP it's not possible to add key via OBD even if we have a working key. Need to do like you did, read EEPROM on the table and then find ISN from the working key.

No it's not the good tool for this CAS3++ ISTAP, other tools are enable to do it by OBD2, just a risky job! ( to downgrade CAS )
IM608 Method is good, safe & recommended. Normally after obtaining IMMO KEY DATA + 1 WORKING KEY, you no need the car to add another key ... ( IM608 tool is not able ) 100%.

BMW no need obd2 to program another key, OBD2 it's just to obtain IMMO KEY DATA!
But you already have this info, made a dealer key with this info + working key & start car ...
autel im608

2. How I did successfully with Xhorse VVDI2 Programmer?
I've done over a dozen of these, Zed full did not work after downgrading cas I couldn't do much more.

With VVDI2
1). simply downgrade CAS (never had an issue, make sure you have good power.)
2). After downgrading cas, pull cas and EEPROM immo data, make key in vvdi2, write back to cas.
3). Now you need ISN, you have 2 options, try up to 64 times letting it try and figure out ISN for you OR pull and read ISN from DME

I never pull DME on cas3+ ISTAP works 100% with VVDI2.

I could not read EEPROM even after downgrading through OBD (on some I can, the ones I couldn't happen to be 2011 if I remember right), so I proceed to remove CAS. I will have to try ISN through OBD next time. VVDI2 says this type supported in the future when trying to read EEPROM OBD after downgrade (latest updates).

Someone doesn't think so:
.NO
will not lower unless I had the flu thenI'll tell you how it turns out, cas3 ++ surprised me, series 1, old car, with a 3-liter engine, no keys, we can do it
msv80, ECU ISN A4................................................ .................................C4
vvdi2

3. CGDI BMW key programmer reviews:
TESTED ON BENCH, sometimes yes but generally no! I never tested on the car ... For BMW CAS 1>3 I only use CGDI BMW: low price tool who never failed, dealer key cost only £150 for sell to customer half of price you need CGDI BMW !!!
I have VVDI2 FULL, X100pad 2 pro after tested on the bench, I will never use them after bad results...
cgdi bmw

Enjoy!

BMW E/F Scanner V2018.12 (explorer) Feedback Yes & No

Tried the interface BMW E/F Scanner V2018.12 (explorer), and would like to share what I do and what I do not do.

Share software for BMW E/F Scanner V2018.12 (explorer):

Review 1:
Okay, so I received tool 2 days ago, tested so far with E61 and F10 2013, in terms of km reset, codings its all like original, it fails in ISN reading on F series as these fields are blanked off, id read isn from edc16c35 short one fine, sometimes it drop dongle errors, but overall tool is worth spending that sum of money, just to do coding E/F series and km resets on its own, i would not risk doing FEM/CAS key. Will try and update my post in a week or so about keys, as might have a go on mine just for feedback, I compared all functions to my genuine interface which is basic plus few licenses not full like the clone one.

bmw-ef-scanner-v2018.12-review-01

Review 2:
I have done quite a lot of cas 2, 3, 3+ 3+ downgraded and then restored to ori no problem, please always use battery support, all these bad reviews and cries for flash are caused by brave people trying to flash them without stable voltage, there is cas flash no on the top of the window, which you can note just in case some problems occur, then you can find for the right flash fine even if it was updated by ista/p in the past.

Review 3:
All works. Do not update.

Review 4:
X1 e84 2.0d 143hp edc17 read OBD 128bit ISN OK

bmw-ef-scanner-v2018.12-review-03

Review 5:
Tested cas3 2007 other tools could not reset km by obd, very pleased with it! DME km by obd ok F25 and E90 tested, shadow km's resetted. I think I even trust this with FEM (reset km).

Review 6:
My clone shows 24 times in licenses and sometimes after work it goes down to 22 but after restart program the counter refreshed to 24

On my F01 km reset in DDE don't work (FZD and JBBF works without issues) but I read in explorer manual that original tool has also a success rate from 50 percent on f Series. Overall its worth the money I think

E71 2010 Long ISN read (DDE) success, I can't test more vehicles until now

Review 7: Solution to "Dongle not found"
go to setup and it will find it.
On my one laptop it doesn't work on one usb3.0 and another works good.

Question: Does the E/F scanner from china work with dongle?
Answer: The tool is dongle itself.

2018 BMW E/F scanner VS VVDI BMW VS CGDI BMW

2018 BMW E/F scanner,  VVDI BMW, CGDI BMW are almost the same at different price comparing with BMW Explorer, which one you decide to have, here 4 feedbacks for you reference.

Feedback 1:
As i understand 2018 BMW E/F scanner is BMW Explorer clone! Very interested in this because this has EGS ISN reset option that some said will be coming to VVDI2 in next update but that was 3 updates ago so i guess it is not coming..

I considered to get CGDI BMW that does almost the same things for BMW as VVDI2 and much more including this EGS ISN option but CGDI is meant to use with a subscription (Subscription or free if you have CGDI MB or CG Pro 9S12. ) so I don't need that. But 2018 BMW E/F scanner clone tool i would like to get if it works so any feedback from this E/F Scanner working or not working would be appreciated.

I know that buying BMW Explorer would be the right thing to do but it is crazy expensive and while i can't afford to invest that kind of money in tools for now i am willing to take a chance on clone tools like 2018 BMW E/F scanner clone. VVDI2 and CGDI also are not the origin developers of options like FEM key making, ISN reading. That all is coming from BMW Explorer. They have just cloned the service under their own tools.

Feedback 2:
Xhorse made a blue colored Bmw vvdi unit (said this 3 years ago)
That will have these explorer functions.
Will they also upgrade the vvdi2?

If not, i am thinking of buying cgdi bmw, instead of this explorer scanner. It cost a 116euros more.
The description of the bmw cgdi is very similar to the explorer.
I already have the full vvdi2 including Bmw. So i would prefer a vvdi2 update in the near future.

Nice feature on the cgdi bmw is the eeprom adapter, you can plug in. (costs extra)
Would love to see that on the vvdi2.
cgdi-prog-bmw-4

Feedback 3:
It free in cgdi bmw which is much cheaper in full as only some bmw activation in vvdi2
we will see how good is this e f scanner clone really. i will order full one.

Feedback 4:

More 2018 BMW E/F scanner feedback will be updated in the coming days, please wait.
